SORRY, the Trails are currently CLOSED!
That means NO HIKING, NO BIKING, NO HORSES, NO TIP-TOEING ETC This is a seasonal closure due to wet weather.
Q: When will the trails re-open? A: That will
be decided by Mother Nature. The trails will be open as soon as they
are dry enough to sustain foot and bike traffic without doing damage to
the trail. Please respect the hard work of the volunteers by staying
off the trail.
We all want to use the trails as soon as we can,
but please pay attention to the signs and check back here for official
trail opening information. Mother Nature will thank you! |

The HPT built trails are now open. This is a NEW RECORD, the earliest the trails have ever opened in the past was March 29th!
A big thanks goes out to our volunteers who cleared the
trails with the leaf blower last fall and early this spring. This
undoubtedly helped to dry out the trails so everyone can get out and
enjoy the great outdoors!
We will be starting
trail-work soon! Be sure to check back for
information regarding when and where we will meet so you to can become
part of building YOUR Trails! |

The trails were inspected this morning and are coming along. They are still "squishy" in places and need some more time to dry out. Please respect the TRAIL CLOSURE signs and stay off the trails yet. A few "dinosauer tracks" were observed - both by foot and bike wheels - causing damage that will need repair this spring. The breeze we are experiencing today will be helpful. Temps and breezes look to be in our favor this week. We'll see how much rain we receive and if all goes our way, maybe next weekend...
Thanks for your respect of the seasonal trail closure! Frenchman |

Thanks to everybody that helped out clearing the trails so they would dry out sooner. So, after careful consideration, (and mother nature finally cooperating)...
The HPT trails are OPEN!
Go out and hike, ride, run, or whatever safely. Just remember that the trail is still soft and can suffer from abuse so remember to tread lightly. |
